The Mystery of Scorpio

Numerology is often a huge part of Astrology. Every sun sign vibrates to a number and given below is an explanation of the number to which every sign vibrates to! The interesting aspect of it is the Scorpio vibration to Zero which is explained here by the help of Linda Goodman’s text Love Signs. Enjoy the post and hope you learn something fascinating...

The Sun (ruler of Leo) vibrates to the number Ten or One (10 = 1), which it equals when added via the normal mathematical process.

The Moon (ruler of Cancer) vibrates to the number Two (2).

Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius) vibrates to the number Three (3).

Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) vibrates to the number Four (4).

Mercury (ruler of Gemini and temporary ruler of Virgo, until Virgo's true ruling planet, Vulcan, is discovered and identified) vibrates to the number Five (5).

Venus (ruler of Libra and temporary ruler of Taurus, until Pan-Horus is discovered as the true ruler of Taurus) vibrates to the number Six (6).

Neptune (ruler of Pisces) vibrates to the number Seven (7).

Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) vibrates to the number Eight (8).

Mars (ruler of Aries) vibrates to the number Nine (9).

You might have noticed the omission of a number that vibrates to Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) in this list. Many astrologers and students of numerology will tell you that Pluto vibrates to the number Nine (9), sharing this number with Mars (ruler of Aries). This is not true. Pluto, like all the other planets, vibrates to its own personal "number" - distinctly and individually its own - sharing it with no other planet or Luminary. Since we've already covered the numbers One (1) through Nine (9) - and Ten (10) as Leo's Sun vibration, bringing us back to One (1) again, full circle - you may wonder how Pluto can possess its own number. You will see.

First, it's important to realize that the Mars Nine (9) vibration is the Masculine vibration of the Universe, representing and symbolizing the ultimate MASCULINE principle in all of Life and Love. The Venus Six (6) vibration is the Feminine vibration of the Universe, representing and symbolizing the ultimate FEMININE principle in all of Life and Love. Six and Nine. 6 and 9. The Feminine and Masculine vibratory numbers, or 9 and 6. Male and Female. Positive-Negative. Dark-Light. (Polarity.) Notice that when the Feminine number of Venus - Six (6) is turned upside down (reversing its polarity), it becomes a Nine (9). Likewise, when the Masculine number of Mars - Nine (9) is turned upside down (reversing its polarity), it becomes a Six (6). Man and Woman then - are inseparable. Each is an equal part of the other. The Masculine-Feminine Principles are totally interchangeable. Yet, one is always aiming in a direction reverse from the other.

Notice that both the Six (6) and the Nine (9) when the "tail" is removed - become a circle. The circle is the secret of Twin Soul blending - the deepest mystery of the Sun Sign of Scorpio, and Scorpio's ruling planet, the awesome, powerful Pluto. For the number to which Pluto vibrates is - ZERO. The circle. The circle (0) represents Eternity, for it symbolizes the Serpent, eating its own tail. From the Masculine (Positive) head of the Serpent flows the male-positive energy force - into the Female (Negative) tail of the Serpent. Simultaneously, from the Feminine (Negative) tail of the Serpent flows the female-negative energy force into the Serpent's Masculine (Positive) head. This is the secret of Scorpio, the Sun Sign of "sex" - and this is the energy behind the great Power of Scorpio's ruling planet, Pluto. Zero. The Circle. 0. The Serpent, eating its own tail. The symbol of Eternity. For only when all polarities - male and female, youth and age, dark and light, night and day – thus feed energy simultaneously into one another, and blend their energies – rather than continue to oppose one another - can true power exist.

Pluto's vibratory Zero also contains the secret mystery of Christianity's Holy Trinity. "Father-Son-and-Holy Ghost." The "son" (humans, of both sexes) is masculine energy. The "Holy Ghost" (Christ spirit) is feminine energy. When each flows into the other simultaneously (instead of remaining in opposition), a Third Energy is created, which is both, yet neither - neutral and ALL-POWERFUL - i.e.: "The Father" (God). This Third Energy, composed of the Masculine and Feminine combined, flowing into each other, and not in opposition, creates many miracles: The Great Power of Divinity. The conception of a child. The conception of an idea (adding the "1" for love, this becomes an ideal). The energy that powers spacecraft from other solar systems. It is in no way an accident that Kekule, who made the monumental discovery of the benzene ring structure, which paved the way for the theoretical aspect of organic chemistry, said that he dreamed repeatedly of "a snake, eating its own tail" before the concept occurred to him.

Therefore, all the mysterious Pluto-Scorpio "power" comes from a subconscious knowledge of this Zero principle that the perfect blend between Masculine and Feminine creates a Third Energy Force, which is both, yet neither - neutral and ALL-POWERFUL - because it does not oppose, but causes polarities to simultaneously blend and flow into each other. Another indication, another "secret" of Pluto's ZERO circle, is that: what happens when you add the ZERO (0) to any other number? Any banker or mathematics student can tell you that it "increases" the power of the number. Obviously, the sum of one dollar grows larger (has more "power") as you "add the zeros." Thus does $1.00 become $10.00 or $100.00 or $1,000 or $10,000 and so on.

ZERO, then, equals POWER. That's nice for all Scorpios to know – as long as they don't forget what causes the power. The Serpent, eating its own tail - Eternity's Secret.

What's a Moon Sign?!

There are two reasons why some people do not seem to fit the descriptive characteristics of their astrological sign. In the first instance, they may not really comprehend the entire astrological description of their sign and are basing their opinion only on a few generalities. A more thorough explanation often reveals that most individuals do demonstrate the inherent characteristics of their sun sign.

In the second instance, astrological interpretation is based on knowing the complete horoscope of an individual which indicates where all the celestial bodies were positioned at the time of birth. It will reveal how strongly an individual exhibits the traits associated with his or her sun sign. After the sun's sign, the most important position is the sign in which the moon was located at birth.

For example, let's say at the time of birth the sun was in Aquarius. The moon may also be in Aquarius at birth but it may just as easily be in any of the other eleven astrological signs. The astrological sign position of the moon has an important bearing on personality and temperament from an emotional point of view. It describes how a person will emotionally handle the characteristics and traits indicated by the position of the sun at birth. Many calendars and almanacs list the daily lunar positions.

Elemental Quality of the Zodiac

Every zodiac sign has an element attached to it. Your sign is one of these: Fire, Earth, Air or Water. But the quality of that element changes as the signs change. There are three qualities in the zodiac: Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable. Only one of them applies to your sign's element and this combination is the essence of your zodiac sign, giving a great personality description about the fundamentals at the core of your being.

The Three Qualities Are:

  • Cardinal Quality
Cardinal signs like to start things. They are first, often by accident, but also by design. They tread off the beaten path and make it a new highway. Cardinal individuals may get lost as they go off on their own, but the discoveries they make benefit everyone. These are the trailblazers and the visionaries, but they don't necessarily stick around to enjoy what has been established.

  • Fixed Quality
Fixed signs are steady. They learn how to do something and stick with it. They take orders well and delegate along a systematic line. Leadership is their specialty when the rules are known. A person born under a fixed sign may strike others as rigid, but sticking with what is known and making discoveries by following a method is safe and guarantees that what is learned is certain.

  • Mutable Quality
Mutable signs are always changing. They have an experimental nature that plays with the information codified by the Fixed signs and brings along the improvisational zeal of a Cardinal sign. Always free to try new things, they are dogged by inconsistencies that are part of their free-form nature. Putting it all together, they soar with masterpieces of creativity. Pulling it all apart, and they swoon with confusion.

Elemental Qualities of Each Zodiac Sign:

Each sign of the zodiac has a unique combination of one quality and one element – no two signs carry the same two of these together. Read below to see what your sign promises to deliver at the core of your personality on the drive toward understanding yourself.

Aries March 21 – April 19

This Cardinal Fire sign is known as "The Spark" – it uses the Cardinal quality of starting new things and the Fire element of spreading energy quite fast. This might be perceived as an avoidant personality, always off to new things.

Taurus April 20 – May 20

This Fixed Earth Sign is known as "The Stone" – it relies on the Fixed quality of stability and the Earth element's natural pragmatism to stay consistent. Some might even call this stubborn.

Gemini May 21 – June 21

This Mutable Air sign is known as "The Cool Breeze" – it embodies the Mutable quality inherent in a refreshing shift of consciousness. This burst of insight is the core nature of the Air element. Some might consider this a personality that is a lot of flash and no substance.

Cancer June 22 – July 22

This Cardinal Water sign is known as "The Rain" – it manifests the Cardinal quality's invigorating nature with the nurturing possibilities inherent in Water signs. Others could consider the drenching of an otherwise good day to be more like it.

Leo July 23 – August 22

This Fixed Fire sign is known as "The Bonfire" – the Fixed quality's stationary nature enlightens all those that gather around the warmth of its Fire element. A difference of opinion with a Leo could lead one to believe that the lion never wants to leave its throne.

Virgo August 23 – September 22

This Mutable Earth sign is often referred to as "The Landslide" – the Mutable quality's nature of change and motion makes a real impact in the Earth element's material world. Another viewpoint could see this as a capitulation to the elements.

Libra September 23 – October 22

This Cardinal Air sign is best described as "Exhaling" – the Cardinal quality of putting new energy out into the world combines with the Air element's nature of shared consciousness. Others might insist that it is all talk and no action.

Scorpio October 23 – November 21

This Fixed Water sign can only be thought of as "Ice" – The Fixed quality of a certain position is manifested by the solid nature of the Water element. Others will, of course, point out that this very consistency can be … oh, so cold.

Sagittarius November 22 – December 21

This Mutable Fire sign is understandably referred to as "The Wildfire" – the Mutable quality of raging unhindered energy manifests in the Fire element as a sudden engulfing sensation. Others might note that the unbridled energy of the wildfire burns itself out.

Capricorn December 22 – January 19

This Cardinal Earth sign is commonly called "The Meteor" – the Cardinal nature of flying independently into new worlds manifested in the Earth element's solid, absolute nature. It could be pointed out that many look at a meteor and say, "You're not from around here, are you?"…

Aquarius January 20 – February 18

This Fixed Air sign is referred to as "The Deep Breath" – The Fixed quality holds in that which the air element has shared with the people. The Aquarian nature for knowing what the masses want is often derived from being among, but not of them.

Pisces February 19 – March 20

This Mutable Water sign is best described as "The Flood" – The Mutable quality manifests as reaching everywhere without regard to convention. The Water element leaves its mark here long after it appears to have receded. Some people might call this behaviour mass co-dependency, but some floods do have a nourishing nature amidst the chaos.

Interactions between Element Qualities

Shared Elements are what attract us to others, but shared qualities have a friction and tension that make animosity a likely outcome. If you are in a relationship with someone whose zodiac sign carries the same quality as yours, you might share some similar attributes that actually upset you. The tension between signs of the same quality is a natural manifestation of seeing what we don't like about ourselves embodied in someone else.

  • Cardinal Sign Tension
If you were born under a Cardinal sign, you might notice that others who share this sign's quality will challenge your originality and question the premise of why you are doing what you are doing.

  • Fixed Sign Tension
Two Fixed signs will inevitably butt heads over protocol, regulations and other ways of doing things that might be open to interpretation. The danger is when one Fixed sign lets the other feel too in control and applies late pressure to release or share that control. Tension flares indeed.

  • Mutable Sign Tension
Two people born under mutable signs may work at cross-purposes so independently of each other that they will not realize how sabotaged their efforts are until they see the progress each other has made. There must be a cosmic reason the letter M starts off both the words Mutable and Mess.

Vedic astrology shares the same system as Western astrology of linking zodiac signs to elements. The following table gives the correspondences:
